Catia

Catia is a prominent theatre artist based in Rhode Island. She holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Rhode Island and is a resident artist at Burbage Theatre Co. and Rhode Island Latino Arts. She started as an actor and has branched into directing, producing and playwriting because she saw the need for it. "Create the art you want to see in the world." In that she has brought her love of fashion back into play by also costume designing. Through her art she likes to look at life through a saturated lens; she strives to reflect and represent the colorful beauty and abundance of life to remind people that everyday is a celebration! She is very proud of her Dominican roots and her Afro-Latinidad and wants all the Black and Hispanic girls to know que, "SI SE PUEDE, COÑO!"
