Catia

Catia is an Afro-Latina Actress, and Director. As an actor, she saw her community and identify lacking in the narrative and sought to change that by becoming a Director and highlighting BIPOC bodies and stories, which then led her to playwriting. Instead of continuing to search for stories that mimicked her voice she set out to define her own in her storytelling. Later on she brought her love of fashion back into play by also costume designing. Through her art she likes to look at life through a saturated lens; she strives to reflect and represent the colorful beauty and abundance of life to remind people that everyday is a celebration! She is very proud of her Dominican roots and her Afro-Latinidad and wants all the Black and Hispanic girls to know que, "SI SE PUEDE, COÑO!"
